Will my premiums increase?

NO - They will remain the same throughout your chosen term, even if you leave the Services.

Who will benefit from this SLI policy?

Your loved ones - Wife, Partner, Children, Parents - it's your choice.

Do you cover me for war risks whilst I'm on deployment - and what happens if I leave the Services?

YES - War and terrorism cover applies both to Regulars and Reserves on deployment. However, this particular aspect of your cover will cease to remain in force once you leave the Services.

I sky-dive. Can you cover me?

YES - We do not load premiums or apply any special conditions for hazardous activities or sports - unlike many other life policies.

I was diagnosed with a heart condition a few years ago. Can you really guarantee to offer me cover?

YES – but this could count as a pre-existing condition and if it directly or indirectly led to your death or a terminal illness within the first 24 months of your policy, we would not pay up. After that, we would pay up in full.

Must I have £100,000 of cover?

NO - you may select your own sum assured subject to a maximum of £200,000. The monthly minimum premium is £5 plus a £1.50 policy fee - Total monthly premium is £6.50.

Can I pay premiums by JPA Payroll Deduction?

YES - if you are a Regular in HM Armed Forces. Alternatively you can pay by Direct Debit - which is also the option for Reserves.

I'm Special Forces. Can you cover me?

YES - you are guaranteed acceptance regardless of trade.

Other than pre-existing medical conditions, are there any other exclusions

YES - suicide during the first 12 months of your policy and terminal illness if it is diagnosed during the last 12 months of your policy.

I’m a Reserve and in my own time I take on a Service-type job overseas in a conflict zone which exposes me to danger – will I be covered?

NO – unless in doing the job in question you are acting under the official orders and approval of HM Armed Forces.
